Predator II smashes Irish tope record.

On a tope expedition a young man from dublin, Johny Magee landed a tope in exess of 80lb. Rather than kill the fish for a bit of paper the fish was returned alive as it was a big pregnant female. We had 57tope in 3daysin another session including one of 62lbs.

Specimens are coming thick and fast for predator 11 the count is up to 22 so far but i can assure you their is a lot more to come watch this space ..

Specimen species so far are tope,6 pollack,2 black mouth dogs,1 bullhuss,2 cuckoo wrass, and 9 spurdogs.

Skipper Hamish Currie is exited about his latest wreck its only 30 miles offshore and he has had conger to 35lb ling to 24lb,and pollack to 14lb 12oz

5th June 2006

On saturday predator moved offshore 18 miles north east of red bay to fish one of the deep holes just south of the mull of kintyre. First specimen to come on board was a stunning 19lb 1oz bullhuss caught by Joe Goulie ... second was a 14lb 1oz spurdog caught by damien devlon. Third was another spurdog caught by David McMullen.
Not a bad day for the boys who are all members of the predator specimen club, well done boys.

On the sunday 4th june predator moved to one of the deep holes west of the maidens they caught a few spurdogs and Peter McFarland caught another specimen spurdog of 12lb 8oz well done peter.

Keep an eye on the specimen gallery to view the catches.

Because we are having to hunt specimen fish farther offshore Predator II is going through a lot of changes. We have decided to extend the cabin roof 8ft towards the stern with a hardtop roof with retractable canopy sides to ensure that all passengers are kept dry throughout their voyages.

Predator II only started to claim irish specimens in 2004.

The total for 2004 was 19. Over the years I estimate to have caught many many more especially Tope, Blue Shark, Spurdogs, Pollack, Turbot, Bullhuss etc.

Last year in 2005, Predator II recorded 22 irish specimens but that could have been a lot more if we had killed a lot of Tope. Bad weather prevented us on a few planned specimen hunts.

Last year Predator II found a new offshore bank where in one day we recorded no less than 25 Blond Rays up to 24lb,Turbot, Bullhuss and Cod up to 15lb.

This year is going to be a big year for Predator II, as we have not one but two Specimen clubs with a lot of offshore trips booked targeting Tope, Spurdogs, Conger, Pollack, Big Blonds etc.

Predator II has already got the ball rolling in 2006, with an excellent 12.5lb Pollack caught by Killien Farrley from Portadown ,and two at 14lb 1 oz and 15lb by skipper Hamish Currie.
